Yesterday at 16.35 my first flight have departed from Budapest, with full of curiosity inside. Qatar Airways is one of the best in the world, I could watch some series (I could find some episodes of my favorite, The Big Bang Theory :) ) and movies on my personal screen and time was passing by fast.
My first shock was the Doha airport itself - it is at least 3 times bigger then Liszt Ferenc Airport.
It is really overcrowded, but has an unusual charm, maybe because of the tons of glistening trinket they would like to sell.
I have tried the local smoking lounge, which was overcrowded and smokey (I felt I had smoken 5 cigarettes in a row after the 5 minutes I had spent in), but this room was one of the most international spot I've ever been - people from around the globe sharing the same bad habit :)
After 2 hours of waiting for the transfer the flight to Jakarta was started to board. I was sleeping 5 of the 8 hours during the flight :) At the landing the people were not applauding, which was really good in my opinion, I think only the Hungarians have this habit at the end of the flights (I don't do that, because I think this is the job of the pilot :) ).
Jakarta is an amazing city, with two faces, from the window of the taxi I could see the "favella", which covers at least the half of the city, and then the skyscrapers in the center, the contrast is enormous. According to the taxi driver 20 million people are living in Jakarta (the official data says 10 million), but we were sitting in a traffic jam for more than 2 hours so we had time to discuss the topic. I can admit, this is the biggest city I've ever been.
I was traveling 13 hours on airplanes and 2 hours in a cab, so I deserve a little sleep now :) The problem is, that here is 7 pm here, so I don't know what to do... This is the jet-lag? :D
Indonesian people are great according to the few experience I have and tomorrow I will meet the CSC team and the assignment can really start!
